MDI Marathon October 14, 2018 - Evie KA1BRA mentioned that she was told help from the EAWA was again needed for the marathon this year, but has not received additional information. She didn't know who was in charge, but some members have let her know they are willing to help. The EAWA meeting before the Marathon is October 11th so kinda late to think about organizing for the event.

Autumn Gold Days – Dick W1KRP thought that Phil N1EP had suggested that the EAWA do something to participate in the Ellsworth Autumn Gold Days September 21-23. Nothing has been organized.

New Hams in our Area – Dick W1KRP mentioned that it was brought to his attention that something should be done to let new hams know that the EAWA exists and that they are welcome to come to our meetings and join in on the activities. Evie KA1BRA made the motion that new hams be contacted about the EAWA and receive a free one-year membership. Dick W1KRP seconded the motion The motion passed. Since Phil N1EP organizes the VE Test Sessions, perhaps he could notify Joan W1DLC

who passed so she can contact them.

Auctions/ Raffles on Meeting nights – Dick W1KRP suggested that a good way to boost the treasury was to have a 50/50 raffle every meeting. He also suggested that a table sale or auction night would aid those looking for pieces parts or those trying to clean out gear/parts that might be useful to others. Evie KA1BRA made a motion to have a 50/50 raffle every meeting and occasionally a table sale or raffle with the first raffle taking place at our November 8th meeting. The motion was seconded simultaneously by Jeff KA1DBE and Rob W8HAP. The motion passed.

A motion to adjourn was made at 7:18 PM, but the fill-in Secretary didn't write who made it and who seconded it—oops!
